Dr Filomeno Martina

I work at the intersection of engineering, strategy, and culture, often in contexts where systems must scale under real technical, organisational, and capital constraints. My background is in advanced manufacturing and industrial systems, but my interests extend to how organisations scale, how technologies shape behaviour, and how creative systems — including embodied practices such as yoga — are built and sustained over time.

Engineering and industrial systems

My work has focused on advanced manufacturing, materials, and production systems, from early-stage research to industrialisation and scale. I am particularly interested in how complex technologies move from experimentation into reliable, repeatable operations, whilst supporting a viable business idea.

Strategy, governance, and scale

Beyond technology, I work on organisational design, governance, and decision-making in environments characterised by uncertainty, capital intensity, and long time horizons. This includes board-level work, advisory roles, and the structuring of teams and incentives.

Culture, festivals, and creative systems

Alongside industrial and strategic work, I am involved in cultural and creative projects, including music and festival production. I also practice and teach yoga, which informs how I think about attention, discipline, and the relationship between structure and freedom, all themes that recur across both organisational and creative systems.
